DIESEL TRUCK MECHANIC

TFC Recycling uses state of the art technologies throughout its hauling and maintenance operations.

Requirements

• A Strong background in medium and heavy duty truck electronics is required.
• Knowledge and adherence to safe work practices and procedures
• Good communication skills
• Good attendance record
• Ability to climb, step and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evening/night shifts
• CDL is a plus
• Certifications are a plus

Essential job functions

• Conduct tests using state of the art diagnostic equipment to locate and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydralic malfunctions.
• Repair or replace electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures and equipment including ignition systems, lights and instrument panels.
• Properly operate voltmeters, ammeters and ohmmeters.
• Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other components of vehicles to ensure they are in proper working order.
• Perform routine maintenance including changing oil, checking batteries and lubrication.
• Other duties as assigned.

SWING DRIVER  FOR RECYCLING ROUTES | This position requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A swing driver must have experience in all types of waste collection vehicles including Automated trucks, Rear-load, Front-End and Roll-off.

Requirements

• Current Commercial Driver’s license (Class A or B)
• Minimum of two years driving experience driving waste vehicles
• Valid TWIC card a plus
• Safe driving record indicated by a minimum of positive two (+2) points, positive five (+5) is preferred
• Current DOT medical card
• Knowledge of all DOT requirements for a commercial driver
• Knowledge and adherence to safe driving practices and procedures
• Good communication skills
• Good attendance record
• Ability to climb, step and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Experience in the solid waste and/or recycling industry a plus

Essential job functions

• Daily completion of route in a safe and timely manner
• Conduct pre and post trip inspection of vehicle as required
• Accurate completion of daily paperwork
